Use Of Conventions

Conventions-

     The project uses a variety of conventions but two are prominent. In the project, multiple mid shots were used primarily to help establish the shot and situation, but other than than that the majority of the shots are closeups. This was done both intentionally for two reasons one is due to limitation of  space on the location I was filming the project, but mostly it was one of the ways used to build suspense as it reduced what the audience can sees, putting them in the moment and leaves them clueless on what going to happen next. The second, convention heavily used is the the use of incidental music as it really helps to build atmosphere and suspense but helps with pacing. In the first edit of the film, i didn't have any incidental music and the film just dragged on because as in the parts with no dialogue it just dragged on. It's important to mention that a convention that I challenged in the project it instead of having long drawn out takes to build a suspense, I decided to instead take inspiration to the opening of Child's Play I decided to have many short takes to keep the audience drawn in as but also, was a quite effective technique to build suspense as it gives little time for the audience to digest what is happening keeping them on edge.

Issue Covered-

     Originally, the main topic the film was based around was, how some people debate on where their food really comes from, but clearly taken to the extreme. But, after finishing the film, cannibalism could be represented as well. In the film,  it emphasizes how bad cannibalism, is as I antagonize the main character through the radio broadcast who is clearly has some kind of infatuation with human flesh and ended it by saying that he will be stopped opening the film to go in the direction of finding the killer showing that people like this need to be brought to justice.
