Distribution Plan
Distribution Plan-
Digital/Conventional Distribution-
The most effective way to distribute my film would be to go virtual. This is because i'm targeting a audience of young adult, between the ages 17-30. Due to this it would be a wiser idea to peruse a more digital heavy distribution plan. The traditional "Box Office model" distribution pan will be used cause even though the attendance to conventional theater has been lowering every year it will still a golden standard for rating from a critic for a film that can garner more attention for a film in itself.. The right to my film would be sold to a distributor to handle it getting to exhibitors. Lionsgate would be a good distributor as they have had experience with horror films such as the one I researched Jigsaw. They would distribute it to exhibitor to the 4 main exhibitors in the US but focus on more AMC since as of July 2018 have had the most attendance out of all the exhibitors. My film I will not just focus on domestic but also international specifically China. This is because it China only allows a few films a year to hold but it hard to get approved as it has many regulations. But with a separate cut of the film being made specifically to be aired in China it can grant me access to that huge audience.
Also, the film would be released for streaming on streaming platforms such as Netflix and Hulu. this is because most of the audience i am targeting are on their phone all day, it can be said that their phone is attached to their body. Putting it on streaming service the same day the film premieres in theaters will open the film to people that can or don't want to have to got the movie theaters, making it so that people don't want to wait for the the Blu-Ray and DVD release. This would be learning from the mistake that Jigsaw did with lacking in focusing on the streaming aspect. Also by opening up to the film to more people on premiere night it would bring up a bigger revenue the opening weekend. A month after the premiere the movie be released on home movie copies with extended scene, deleted scenes, and behind the scene extras to intrigue the audience. The film will remain in theater for the normal 90 day runtime.
