CCR #4-Draft

4) How Did You Integrate Technologies - Software, hardware and online- in this project?

Pre Production-

Throughout this project I managed to integrate many technologies to make complete the final product. The script was written using the program FADE In that allowed me to easily format the script and worry more on the film rather the format. After the script and storyboard was hand draw and distally can using a HP printer option was done I used Excel to make a spread sheet of the shots need and what was required of each shot. That same shot list was then colored coding next to the that was in rainbow order determine the what shots where of most important having a color higher up in the rainbow that heed to be recorded first. I would simple work down the rainbow completing the shots moving from character. The shots that got top priority where shots that occured in first in the film, this was to help keep continuity since it was going to be film out of order. This was then SHared to my ipad because i could reference this on the actual day of filming instead of having to print it and changed could be done o on the device.

Filming/Recording-

The film was recorded onto Cannon EOS Rebel T6. This was because it of the manual option on the camera that allowed me to make the picture have a high IOS of 1000. This was important because I knew i was going to raise the contrast and darken the image in post. Also it was set high to make up for the low light on the dark set. The camera had a 75 -300 mm lens this was because it allowed for extreme zoom allowed in me to stand back as my actor moved around in the limed space. The light used was a 24W work lamp with the bulb replace with a 1998 corolla headlight have more light intensity but keep it warm, was hung from the walk with 2 2x4s. The audio afterward was recorded on a audio technica pro 3u hooked up to a computer via usb. The program that was used to record and edit the audio was Audacity. Audacity allowed me to clean up the audio.  With the program the audio was denoised, equalized and the treble was boasted. For the Radio effect a personal plugin,Vinyl Spin down. was used allowed be to get the radio effect, scratches and pops. All footage was stored on a SD card and transferred to the a 8gb Usb same with the audio.

Editing-

The footage was sequenced in Premiere pro CC 2015. very basic editing was done to the clips such as cutting and splitting the clips to the part that was needed. A adjustment layer was made and placed over the clips. all that was done to the images on this adjustment layer to lowered the contrast to -1 and increase the whites by 1. also, I added the letterbox bars. simply because I thought they were visually appealing. I know that to accomplish the letterbox effect all that need to be done is to change the resolution of the sequence but for some reason it wasn't letting it me do that to the footage I collected so I just manually added it in. The letterbox size was placed to be 10% of the frame at he top and bottom. Also a unsharp mask was added to style the the film by having very well defined line while also enhancing the noise in the image that gave it the effect of  film grain to make it resemble if it were filmed on a film camera like all the horror movies i researded. The titles were created within Premiere. The font was old English and the it had a black outline and a gradient of 2 tones of red. In and out pint where added make the fade in and out as the film progressed. The same fount and colors where used for the title.  Finally the film was also exported from the same program.

Poster-

Photoshop 2015 was also used to create the movie poster. the clip Scout turning around in the film and staring at the cameras direction was exported and that very frame was copped and pasted into a new layer. The font was old English same as what was use din the film the color was changed to a yellowish white due to the fact that the red gradient didn't stand out as well. Then lastly the brush tool was taken and with a organic shape brush and the airbrush option turned all the way blotches of yellow and red when added to the image to add a bit of grim. Then it was exported as a Png.

Documentation/Research-

The entire process was logged using Blogger a google app that allowed for individual post of each step. This allowed me to stay organized and keep track of what i have done and see what I still had  required to have done. Research was all done online from a multitude of sources found on google scholar.
